Papercraft: Research

Image
Zim and Zou, also known as Lucie Thomas and Thibault Zimmerman, are two people who've created these detailed and eye catching window installations. I looked at most of the articles but really liked this one called "Forest Folk", specifically because of all the little villagers I was able to find another article (https://zimandzou.fr/forest-folks) that introduces these installations by explaining that we are given a sneak peak into this tiny little world. Giving readers a brief narrative of what's going on: "In this project, spectators have a sneak peak of curious characters living inside this environment. This microscopic point of view, where plants and other vegetal reign as masters, is like a kind of picture, a flash, a precise instant in nature's unrestrained run. Life is everywhere, flowers are growing and carry away it's inhabitants in their impetus. These mysterious people are evolving, building, and living right in the heart of nature, revealing a

Mesh Mashup: HD Render (failed)

Image
For my Mesh Mashup HD Render, thanks to the great feedback from my classmates, I chose to try and render my paint palette garden, unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it, I got to the point where I was trying to add in all the details and I tried repeatedly to keep the pieces separated, even though they weren't combined together to begin with (in Tinkercad).     Once I added the design into Rhino, it made it so that almost all of the individual pieces, like the flowers and mushrooms, were one piece, it also decided to exclude two flowers and a fern, for some odd reason. I looked for ways to try and separate them, and when I thought I found out how it wouldn't apply it to any of the pieces.  I am a little disappointed because I was excited to see the end result of this project, however, I know I could have found out a different way if I kept trying, but I just ran out of time. As of right now, I just added color and some texture to what I could, but there isn't a whole

Mesh Mashup (Concept Generation)

Image
I have begun my Mesh Mashup objects 1. Portal  Starting with a combination of these three objects found on Thingiverse.  portal by yehonathanbarda - Thingiverse Portal Man Remix - Magnet by Joe-OSU- - Thingiverse Making Music by mom0sarah - Thingiverse I've made a stair case of figures running into this portal. I first got the idea when I seen the musical instrument and had the thought that it looked like a stair case. I also thought that since the instrument is limited and only goes so far, I wanted to make the end more interesting, so I added the portal like circle. And because of these specific human figures I used, I was able to take only half of one of them and make it look like one of them was halfway through the portal. 2. Objectified Response

For this project I chose to create a chair. I got inspired when I seen the complex process of making an object, such as a chair, something that seems so simple, and came up with the idea of this squiggly design. This was similar to a few of the unique chairs that were shown in the documentary. Although the chairs weren't talked about specifically, they were still shown and I found them intriguing. I then wanted to include more things onto this chair since it was looking a bit plain, so I made it more personalized by adding a penguin seat cushion like I have on my chair in my room, as well as a head cushion, making it look a bit more comfortable.

Cat Tree Object

Image
I made a silly little cat "tree" object, it has a similar shape to a castle with a few compartments for a cat to go and simply lay around. It was a good practice design.
